Let your creativity tell your story!
PTA Reflections is a national arts program that gives students the opportunity to explore their creativity and express what matters to them through art. Each year, students create an original piece inspired by a special theme—and this year, we're celebrating “What My Culture Means to Me.”
Culture can be so many things: family traditions, food, music, language, celebrations, memories, places, values, stories, or the people who help shape who you are. There is no “right” way to interpret the theme. We want to see your perspective and your unique story!
🌟 Choose Your Way to Create
Students can enter in one or more of these categories:
- 🎨 Visual Arts
- 📸 Photography
- ✍️ Literature
- 🎬 Film Production
- 🎵 Music Composition
- 💃 Dance Choreography
- ♿ Accessible Arts — an optional division for eligible students with disabilities
Entries should be original student creations made specifically for Reflections. Each entry also needs a creative title and a short artist statement explaining how the artwork connects to the theme.

You don't have to be a professional artist—Reflections is about your voice, your ideas, and your creativity!
Ask yourself:
- What traditions are special to my family?
- Is there a food, song, celebration, language, or place that represents me?
- What have I learned from my family or community?
- What makes me proud of my culture?
- Is there a story or memory I want other people to know?

Don't worry about making your artwork “perfect.” Think about what makes your story yours. The most important part of Reflections is sharing your unique voice through creativity!
