Lone Star Press

Thank you for your interest in publishing a hardcover book for Lone Star Press!

HOW DOES THIS PROGRAM WORK?

Lone Star Press is a student book publishing program that promotes literacy and encourages creativity by providing students with an opportunity to write and illustrate real books on their own with little involvement from teachers or parents. Lone Star Press books are printed as hardcover books by Studentreasures Publishing. Click HERE and HERE to see two examples.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

All students at Lindsey Elementary are invited to participate in this rewarding program! Every child has a story to tell! (One original book per student; additional copies of the book will be available for purchase)

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST?

This PTA-supported program is offered at a cost of only $10. This $10 copy of your child's book will become yours to keep. Additional copies of the books are available after publishing for an additional cost. Please prepay this fee by Friday, September 8th!

Only students who prepay for a packet will be able to publish a book.

CAN I ORDER MORE COPIES OF THE BOOKS?

If you would like to purchase extra copies of the books, an order form will be provided once your child's book is complete. Your child's hardcover book will be delivered to Lindsey in Spring 2024. We will hold an Author's Reception recognizing his/her achievement at that time. You are under no obligation to purchase additional books.

LET'S GET STARTED!

  • Prepay for your student(s) packets
  • Click here to prepay for your student(s) packets
  • A writing packet will be delivered to your student with instructions included.
  • All pages (manuscripts and illustration pages) will be scanned in so that you will have a "snapshot" of your child's work in a beautiful bound book.

PTA would like for everyone to be able to participate in this program.  If there is a financial concern, please talk to Dr. Sharp by Friday, September 8.
