Arts in Education is a long-standing priority for PTA, and working to incorporate the arts into daily learning contributes to growth and education of the whole child. Visit Allen ISD Council of PTAs or Texas PTA for more information on Arts in Education programs.

Reflections has been a staple arts program in many schools for nearly 50 years. Through the efforts of our Local PTAs, millions of students have found a creative outlet in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts.

With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story using a new theme each year. For 2018-19, the theme is "Heroes Around Me." Please visit the Texas PTA Reflections page for more details.

For the 2018-2019 contest, entries are due to Lindsey on Friday, October 19th!

Please make sure that the entries include not only the art piece, but also a completed Entry Form.  All forms and specific category rules are available on the Texas PTA Reflections site linked above!

ArtSparks is an art appreciation/visual literacy program designed by the Allen Arts Alliance. The program brings trained volunteers into local classrooms, giving the children the opportunity to interact with and explore great works of art, participate in an engaging discussion, and reinforce concepts with related enrichment/hands-on activities. The program is free to AISD schools.

The Allen Arts Festival has become a highly-anticipated Mother’s Day weekend (2nd weekend of May) tradition in Collin County and the north Texas region.  This family-friendly event features a wide variety of free events including; interactive art experiences, music, dance and entertainment.  The juried art festival attracts a diverse group of fine art exhibitors from all over the country. Proceeds from the festival are distributed back to the ArtSparks/ArtsReach program and to other non-profit arts organizations under their umbrella.
